Hi, I'm Sarah

I'm the hands — and the heart — behind Flux + Thread, a small stained glass studio where I cut, foil, and solder one-of-a-kind pieces, and teach others to do the same.

My story with stained glass started back in high school. I was part of my church's youth group, and a member of the congregation came in to teach us the basics — and I was hooked from those very first cuts.

Years later, when my husband's grandmother passed away, I inherited her stained glass supplies and her glass inventory. Picking up those tools brought me right back to it, and I fell in love all over again. It's such a unique craft — one that has really grown and evolved — and what began as a love of color and the way light moves through glass has become a studio and a calling.

The name nods to flux, the bit of chemistry that lets solder flow and glass come together — and to the thread of craft and care that runs through every piece. Everything here is handmade, with love.

I keep my workshops small on purpose — just four seats — so everyone gets real hands-on time and leaves with a finished piece they made themselves.

More than anything, I'd love to build a little community of people who appreciate stained glass as much as I do. I also recently became a mom — just over a year ago — so these days the studio is where I get to create, teach, and share a craft I truly love.
